 PRESIDENT'S
MESSAGE
There
was a historic event on Monday, November 10, 2008. WE had OUR Annual Dinner
Dance and the New Executive Board of Officers was sworn in.
It was historic because WE will be celebrating OUR
Silver (25th) Anniversary at OUR next Dinner Dance on November 10, 2009.
Over the course of time, since 1984, the South Florida Shomrim
Society has gone through many changes. All
these changes have brought US to where WE are today. The
South Florida
Shomrim Society is a strong, vibrant and growing organization.
OUR name is a misnomer for WE have members all over the State of
Florida in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Lee, Brevard and Seminole
Counties. Additionally, WE have members in
New York
,
Pennsylvania
,
California
, and
Massachusetts
. Oh, did I mention Israel, too? WE are bigger than just
South Florida
, but rest assured WE have no intention of changing the name.
WE are, and will always be, the
SOUTH FLORIDA
SHOMRIM SOCIETY just as OUR Founding Members intended 25 years ago.
On behalf of the Executive Board of Officers and the Board of
Directors, I welcome you to browse this website for information about OUR
organization. WE are proud of the service WE provide to the general
community and the service WE provide to the Jewish Community of
South Florida
. WE are in our 25th year helping provide a fraternal atmosphere for
public safety officers (police officers, fire fighters court personnel and a
variety of support personnel) of the Jewish Faith.
